If the eye pain is due to a sty which is an infection on its lids, there is a quick relief from it like soaking wash cloth in warm water. This hot compress can drain the oil. While under the treatment, avoid rubbing the eyes or wearing eye make up.
If you want to remove speck of dirt, wash it with saline solution. Never use tap water or eye drops unless there is a harmful chemical that got in your eyes. There are times when the foreign material is in the white part of the eyes, it is best to careful dislodge this with cotton. You can also remove painful particle by flipping your eyelids down. It will help in wiping off lower lid to dislodge it.
A cold treatment can work effectively to relieve your eyes from dryness like ice or cold pack of green peas. Press this in the affected area.
